You know we're in trouble when
McDonalds is lobbying the
FDA in the interest of consumers.
According to an AP report (see
Group: U.S. Not Protected Against Mad Cow), 2 corporations and 7 individuals joined together to call for stronger safeguards against
Bovine Spongiform Encephalopathy. McDonalds wants our risk of exposure down to zero, while the American Meat Institute is comfortable with removing only 90% of "potential infectivity" from infected animals.
